I go out of the way to park by myself. I come out to the lot after work, some SUV IS parked right up alongside me, now I have 2 huge dings and a bunch of scratches on my driver's side.

Grr. Car isn't even 6 month old!

Ah that sucks, sorry to hear man! I myself intentionally park as far away from everyone else but there is always that one douchebag who decides to park ridiculously close to me when there are plenty of empty spots available. The masses are asses!

Reminds me of this video.

Yeah, people have this very strange need to go out of their way to screw up someone else's day... If you must park next to a nice car that has parked so far away for a reason, be courteous enough to not do any damage to that car. Heck, I do that even when I'm parked right up front. I have enough door dings in my car that I know I don't want to put any in someone else's car who also probably thinks like me and doesn't want any on their car. Heck, I've dropped a drink all over my car to stop my door from swinging into someone else's car. Unless of course they've double parked their stupid SUV so that I can't get into my car without hitting their vehicle, in which case I really don't care...

If they are double parked but far enough away from civilization that no one should be parking by them anyway, just leave them alone. If they are double parked closer then yeah, they are just idiots asking for it.

Dealt with insurance today. Even though it happened at work, unless I can prove who did it I am SOL. It's insane hoe expensive auto repair has become. The sucky part is having to repaint a 5 month old car. :(

It would probably be under the uninsured/underinsured motorist of your insurance. When my car got hit in the parking lot and the person that did it ran off without leaving a note I had to pay a $250 deductible. My normal deductible is $500. The shop took off $50, so I really only had to pay $200, but it's still more than you want to pay when someone else does the damage...

EDIT: And this is relevant to the thread. http://www.viralnova.com/hilarious-windshield-notes/ :)

I had a string going with my neighbor 5-6 years ago. Me: "nice to see you hit my car. You didn't leave a note!" Them "you park on the other side of the street directly in the line of my driveway!" "Must be nice to have a driveway... attached is a video of me pulling a fifteen passenger van out of your driveway with my car in the way. Your minivan should be no problem." "Let me know how much I owe you" "you owe me a note with your contact details that I can throw away after shrugging off the minimal damage to my car" "I hit your car a week ago. Jane Jones 123-456-7890"
