Scangauge Boost gauge

I've been using dual scangauges mounted in my ST since I got it. While they did cause the Vehicle Health Reports to fail, unplugging them restored that functionality. While checking if there were any updates available for the Scangauge that would prevent that issue, I discovered that they have a feature in the latest version of the firmware that allows the Manifold Absolute Pressure gauge to be used as a Boost gauge. I sent one of the units back to get upgraded. Those of you looking for a boost gauge and don't want to spend the cash on an Accessport, the Scangauge is only $179.

And if you want to spend $100 less than that for a boost reading, look into an Ultragage. :)

I like the Scangage and have two of them, but I think I like the larger display on the Ultragage that I use in the ST.
I'm using the Ultraguage best option for the money, imo !
The Ultragauge wasn't available when I got the Scangauges. It certainly looks more flexible and at half the price, quite a deal!

Silly question, can you leave the Ultraguage plugged in?

Yes, if you have a new model Ultraguage.
The original versions prohibit newer model car's computers from sleeping properly and will run down the battery overnight.

My original Ultraguage worked fine on my 2011 Fiesta, but I had to buy a new version for the ST.

Ok thanks, I purchased the Ultraguage EM v1.2 is this the new model that will allow me to leave it plugged in?

Here's how I mounted my Ultraguage. Use a little 3M 2 sided sticky tape and a couple of small black zip ties. Cord ran under dash to the OBD plug. Neat and clean looking, out of the way and easy to see.

Does the Ultraguage give you the oil temp? I do not the scangauge does.
also how fast does the Ultraguage refresh? i have heard they only update every 3 sec or so.
thank you for the info
I don't think oil temp is available. These gauges can only display whatever is provided by the computer, and the computer apparently doesn't care how hot the oil is.

From the manual, available on-line:
Page Refresh rate
Min 0.3 sec., Default 1.0 sec., Max 2 sec.
odd i thought that cobb's plug in gave Oil temp.
its to bad, i really only want it for oil temp.
Cobb does have Oil Temp. I monitor it when I have it in the car.
Very odd, if Cobb can pull oil temp from theOBD II i would think others should as well. Can anyone with the Ultra Guage see if they have oil Temp. thank you
I looked at the available gages on mine today and oil temp is not listed.
It would be nice to see it, but since the oil passes thru a intercooler heat exchanger (under the oil filter), I would expect the oil temps to follow the coolant temps somewhat. Firesail, can you verify this??
On duty right now. AP @ home.
Judging from the oil temp, it looks as if the engine isn't completely warmed up.
Does the oil temp eventually reach the same temp as the coolant???
Car had been sitting for a while. Went out to get picture to prove that we can monitor oil temp. I haven't used the gauges much. Plan is to use them when doing autox.

This is directed towards the Ultraguage users. I originally bought mine with the windshield mount, and decided I wanted something that looked cleaner. So I purchased the 3m mount that you can stick on the dash. This is where I currently have it placed.

Reading the different forums about the Ultraguage I though I saw a post where you could flip how the screen was oriented. So basically you could mount it upside down like this, having the cord running out the right versus the left.

I've looked through the menu and haven't found any options to do this, perhaps I'm crazy and was looking at another device?
