Yesterday when I started driving, everything was fine. Then about 20 mins into my drive my driver side, front speaker starts making this awful sound. Im thinking its the woofer because it only makes the sound when there's bass. So I just turned it down and off for a few mins and turned it back up and it would be okay for a few mins then do it again, did it on the drive home too. But today it wasn't doing it (maybe I had the audio lower knowing it would probably do it) Im not a person who cranks my audio so its not like I blew it..anyone else experienced this? I guess ill be taking it to Ford if it does it again.

Yup, we had the same thing show up in December. They didn't have the speaker in stock, so they changed it for me when it was back at the dealer this week for the heater blower issue again. At least they were able to replace the speaker while it was in.

I had a crackling speaker on the passenger side but it only happened when it was -30 out. I'm actually at the dealer now and told them about it. But since it's not crackling anymore they just told me to let them know if it starts happening again. Could have just been the severe cold.

Ours was popping intermittently on the driver side when playing anything bass heavy. It was coming and going so it was tough to pin down. I dont think temp had anything to do with it as it was doing it when really cold and when it was milder out. Dealer replaced it under warranty with no issues.

Same thing has been happening to my front right speaker. It started when it got really cold out. It would make crackling noises. I still hear it every now and then. I will probably have to take it in and get it replaced. They do this for free I assume right?

Ah! I was right! I was pretty sure you were, but I've helped so many US and Canadians out with tracking, that I wasn't 100% sure. But yes, Kwasi will be here to help you out. I'll make sure he knows.

After having the speaker replaced under warranty ours is good as new. Sounds great again. For anyone still having issues I'd highly recommend taking it to your dealer as it took a week or so for the speaker to arrive from the US (in Canada). Just hoping the issue doesn't eventually resurface since it sounds like a fairly common issue.

Brought the car in Sept 2013. Currently 13100 kms.. And no I haven't contacted the dealer.. It has happened several times now.. I don't use a lot of bass.. Maybe +3. And when I play the music about 1/4-1/2 way the passenger side speakers are making this cracking/viberating sound and it vibrates into the door..
