The Biopsy Results Are In!

As you may or may not of known, after owning my Fiesta for approximately 22 hours, it broke down. It refused to start and gave us all sorts of warnings including Immobilizer failure, steering failure and all sorts of fun things. After many hours on the phone with questionable customer service reps, we were able to restart the car thanks to a mechanic friend. This all happened while we were approximately 100 miles away from home. Needless to say, we were not thrilled. Our friend who was a Porsche mechanic was convinced it was a problem with the key fob, but according to the Ford guys, it was a improperly installed wire of all things. Here is the official report:

Bummer it happened but at least it was a simple fix!

My buddy is the lead tech at VW and there are lots of "airbag" lights coming in on certain models.
I was there when one came in (two days old)....before he even looked at it himself, he told the employee that drove it in to look under the passenger seat and see if he notices anything wrong. Sure enough, the wire was just unplugged. Doh!

Must be the "friday" cars
