What are doing Bryan, keepin' 'em in a storage locker in hopes Ford will forget about the ST?
you be quiet, nobody is to know my plan.

Actually, the storage place is down the road from my house and it provides a nice picture location. I used to keep my Mustang there until I got a house with a 3 stall garage. Now I just go there for pictures. Since being repaved, might be a good spot to hoon RC cars.

I still think the previous generation Fiesta's a great looking car. I prefer the front end design to that of the 2014.
agree, there are a lot of design elements that are better on the 2011-13 cars than the new ones. The European 2009-2013 cars are even better. I prefer my 3dCarbon rear to the honeycomb part of the ST and my side skirts are lower, but don't stick out as far from the rockers. They also are easier to get a jack/jack stands under since they are deeply cut around the pinch weld. The headlight and taillight design of the 2011-13 cars is much nicer. I prefer the 2009-13 European nose out of all the cars, then the US 2011-13, then the ST, and don't care for the 2014 non ST design. Having a nice intercooler in the bumper makes up for a lot of the dislike I have for the redesign. If I could built the ultimate Fiesta, it would have all the ST performance parts, ST calipers, SVT Focus front rotors, ST Recaro seats, 2011-13 US Sync, 2011-13 US center console, 2009-2013 European exterior, 2009-13 European projector headlamps, 2009-13 European factory body kit, my white wheels, the Team O'Neil special electronics to get rid of all the nannies, and be covered in Performance Blue. That would take the best elements of all the cars and make them into one.

Great pictures. What brand are those white rims? They would look great on a Blue ST....
They are Axis Touring Cups custom drilled for 4x108. I had them made in 1999 for my ZX3.

I might try to install the Axis wheels on the ST, but probably can't share the pictures since marketing would have a heart attack. I want to weigh both wheel/tire combos to see how my Axis wheels compare to the ST wheels. I run a 215/40 17 tire since I find the 205/40 17 to have too little sidewall and not enough contact patch. The downside is the weight. When I get my ST, these wheels will be on the car. I don't plan on keeping the factory ones.

I'm honestly not a big fan of the new Ford corporate nose, but at least the Fiesta ST wears it the best of all their cars. Except the Fusion, I suppose.
Great comparisons, but the older car looks lower than the ST ???
Bryan,
Did you ever put the rims from the white car on the ST? Would love to see a pic!

It is because my white Fiesta has the 3dCarbon side skirts that are lower than the ST ones. Otherwise, they are really about the same height. I also have taller diameter tires which fill the wheel wells more and with the white wheels make the car look optically lower. When I get the ST back next month I can measure it, but I am sure they are the same height. Looking at the picture above, the mirror height looks to be the same. You need a fixed point that is common between both cars, such as the roof, mirror, or another main body part. The nose of the ST makes the car look taller too.
Huh? The front rotors on the SES are actually BIGGER than those on the ST? Are the former aftermarket?

Car would look so much better with larger arches and 18/19 staggered wheels--17/18 at a minimum...

Yes, the brakes on my 2011 Fiesta are not stock. For the summer, I run 300mm SVT Focus rotors and stock brakes in the winter.

I would not go any bigger than 17" wheels on the Fiesta. I am really close to hitting the inner fenders with P215/40 17 tires. Going lower profile to knock the diameter down would put the wheel at more risk. Plus, 18 and 19 inch wheels add more weight, which I have found to be a performance killer on small cars. I haven't tried heavier wheels on the ST, but going to the 17" wheels on my Fiesta really drags down the performance. The more wheel weight means the more unsprung weight, more rotational mass to accelerate and slow down.
Great pics. Got some tire smoke too!!

So you were using 215/40s in this autocross? What brand?
I took delivery of my factory ordered Fiesta ST yesterday afternoon. My dealer tells me it's the first retail sale of a Fiesta ST in the state of Nevada.

I ordered the car way back in June and it finally arrived on Tuesday (I was in Vegas on a business trip). I've only had it a day but it's already the best car I've ever owned. Love nearly everything about the car, very few complaints.

And my first 'mod':

I have plenty more mods planned. Next up will likely be painting the calipers and ordering some better floor mats. I was going to powdercoat the wheels black, but I really like the sparkle in the silver paint (wonder if the dark grey wheels have metallic flakes).

I need to take more photos of it. As a (amateur) trackday photographer I spend so much time running around taking photos of other peoples cars I never stop to take some of my own.
