My dealer decided to give me the runaround on the car they told me they could get me. I didn't really have the time to play games, so I drove 4 hours away to pick up a used 2014 Black ST with all the bells and whistles and only 5k miles. It has a quarter sized ding in the passenger front door and the tint has an rip in the passenger rear window, but I don't use the passenger door nor sit in the back seat. Now to try and talk myself out of the MP215 deal that's going on.

Yea, mine looked clean for about a week then ,Surprise! March snow storm!
Dipped my wheels Vintage Gold for the season (or if brake dust is bad, until I can't stand it anymore) and threw in Nokya Hyper Yellow fogs (formerly LED)

Can anyone tell me if they see a variance in color between their rear bumper and the quarter panels? In direct sunlight? In the shade there's not much difference, but in the sun, totally different thing.

Just got my bumper replaced and repainted and the color isn't a perfect match in the sun, don't remember if from factory there was a color difference or not between the two.

As much as they wanted to repaint the quarter panels to blend the paint, I refused, but now wondering if I should have gotten it done...

Without seeing pics and just based on your description I'd say it's normal. There is always a slight difference between the bumper cover and quarter because it's paint on plastic vs metal respectively. It should be nearly imperceptible especially on a dark color car, so u may be noticing it now but it was the same out of the factory. If you look at every car now you'll notice a slight variance in color between their plastic bumper covers and the fenders/quarters.
