I am considering buying a Fiesta ST this weekend. Ford is offering 0% financing right now and my 2003 Mazda has seen better days.

Please let me know what you think of the options I am considering. I am looking for one of the lighter or brighter colored cars (sounds like orange or white are probably my best bets) with the Recaro package, and no other options. I don't really have any desire for a sunroof and the weight they add and it just increases chances for leaking when we live in the PNW. Any suggestions? I would love to get your guys' opinion as you've lived with the cars for a while. Last summer we got my husband's mustang and it's incredible. Looking forward to having a hot hatch!

Recaro seats and no other options is just what I ordered two and a half years ago. Oh, I got the parcel management "box" for the back so that stuff won't roll around in the "trunk". You don't need nav, google maps or waze is just fine for a lot less than $800. You're going to be changing the wheels most likely anyway. the red brake rotors will be impossible to keep clean with the amount of brake dust these cars generate. I wanted mine to just blend into traffic in case I'm driving like a hoonigan so I got silver, but I would go with magentic if they had it.

I got orange paint with grey Recaros and nav. No moonroof because it lowers the interior roofline, is likely to break and/or leak before too long, and adds weight. I like the idea of moonroofs but after buying a car with a broken moonroof and having to fix it, it still leaked in car washes and heavy rain.

I got the nav because I got tired of my exterior Garmin unit on my old car. It always fell off the windshield and it didn't belong in the interior. I had it hard wired and always up so it would turn on with the car and I could glance at the map if needed, even when not navigating. I liked the idea of having an in dash nav, especially with the Sync 3 it's always got a view of the map up on the home screen. With the Sync 3 update with Android Auto (or the paid for upgrade for Apple Carplay) it sounds like you can link some navigation apps and bring them up on the in dash screen. Not sure how well it will work and it requires the use of data for apps (which would have been no good for me when I drove out to the middle of nowhere and couldn't even reply to a text a couple months ago). I prefer the in dash nav though. It's extremely unsafe to use just your phone while holding it without a mount like I see a lot of people do when they are using their phone to navigate. Not only do you not know where you're going, you're not looking at where you're going. Yes, Ford's in dash nav unit isn't cheap, but the alternatives didn't fit what I wanted.

While I did spring for the moonroof, I can see where you wouldn't with all the rain. But I have a garage at home and work, and it almost never rains here in AZ, so the moonroof will likely last a lot longer. Yes, Recaros are a must. You will not be disappointed, get that order in!
