:( followed the link only to be taunted by action shots of the three door that's being withheld from our market.

I really need to take an FiST fro a spin, even if I couldn't live with the extra doors.

You dont see the doors from behind the wheel looking forward :) the car is that much fun and if you throw a upgrade or two on it its even more fun :)

Meh. Makes the car all the more stealthy. Plus: So much easier to get track stuff (includng wheels) in and out of the car. Also, if you are carrying little passngers, much easier to get out of the car in case of accident.

The 4 door also has shorter doors which means getting in and out of cramped parking spaces is easier. I might be in the minority who likes 5-door hatches. It was a fun read. My friend got a new Mini S and we were going to take em out but he got busy nice to know that while he can hang my ST has the edge.

I'm 6'6", I need the long doors of the three door and hate having the B-pillar directly next to my head as it in is the new five door Fiesta and Focus.

All three of my kids have been raised climbing in and out of or being put in the back of various Focus three doors for the last 14 years.

The new Cooper S looks extremely startled. I'd have a hard time waking up in the morning to that car. It's a fascia with an anxiety disorder... It's like Patrick Star, in car form.

I told a Mini owner buddy of mine that it looks like a blowfish. He found a photo of a blowfish and pasted it side-by-side.

It really does look like a blowfish....to that I will say, "It b***s."

I thought I responded to this Friday, but apparently I did not click on the Post Reply button. In any event, I think we need to be careful about criticizing any other car for having a fish-like front end because, well, our beloved little Ford does look a bit like a barbless suckerfish set to latch onto a rock. It's a look that works for me, while the fronts of both the Minis and 500s make me squish my face into a frown whenever I see them on the street. I can only stomach the Abarth in black.

Top Gear often gets things right. Just not on the TV. Ambitious but rubbish, as they say... :p

For me, the Mini never entered the equation, partly because in Oz it's a lot more expensive than the FiST, but mostly because I've hated the German Mini ever since it was released. I'd dearly love a real Mini in my garage as a toy, but there's no way in hell I'd touch the current, massive one...

As for the number of doors, well it's all personal preference. I'd not go near a Fiesta with two doors on each side, but lots of people here say they wish we got that option...

A friend of mine makes fun of the Fiesta ST's front end, saying it's an 'Aston Martiny hatchback'.

I think he's just a bit miffed because he drives a Mazda2 with 100 less horsepower, and something like 130ft-lbs less torque, and an idiot grin on its face. :D
