mountune is pleased to announce the mTune, mountune’s first handset device designed to easily transport high performance ecu calibrations to the end user.

The mTune comes preloaded with the correct ecu calibration engineered and developed to add maximum reliable performance to your current Focus ST or Fiesta ST, when equipped with mountune performance parts.

Specifically designed as a “calibration” or “MAP” portal and not a tuning device, the mTune will allow customers that are outside of the UK and EU to experience mountune “MP” performance upgrades. Additionally, customers worldwide wishing to upgrade to the mountune “MR” performance range will also have easy access to mountune’s stable and proven performance ECU calibrations.

Furthermore, UK and EU customers that have already upgraded their Focus and Fiesta ST to “MP” specification though mountune’s approved Ford dealer network can benefit from the mTune features that include such benefits as 0-60 time display, data logging, and OBD channel monitoring.

mountune has partnered with COBB Tuning the engineering leader in portable ecu calibration delivery devices and manufacturer of the Accessport, to exclusively develop the mTune for use with mountune performance parts and mountune vehicles.

Each mountune performance calibration has been developed by our engineers to provide impressive, robust performance while maintaining the reliability you’ve come to expect from mountune.

David Moore, mountune’s marketing manager says; “With mountune’s expansion into the USA and the need to support a wider range of global customers, it made sense to work with the leader in handheld devices, COBB Tuning. Based on COBB’s Accessport, the mTune includes unique features and firmware to work exclusively with mountune products”

Does anyone know if Mountune tunes will work with the Accessport or will be need to buy one of these too?
That appears to be an Accesport V3 with Mountune branding.

If I can use Cobb's tuning software as well as standard Mountune package tunes I'll get one. If its locked, I'll go to Cobb. If the Cobb can't do custom tunes, I'll be getting something else.

Agreed. One of the biggest disappointments for me hopping onto the mk7 platform here in the US was the complete lack of aftermarket tuning. I had been hoping that the new Fiesta's market would mimic that of the mk1 Focus and companies would see it's potential and jump on it. As we've seen these last 4 years.... not so much. We can't even import the tuning from Europe (where the Fiesta's ECU was cracked almost from Day 1) because Ford US uses different software in the Mexican built cars.

The tuning is the one thing holding my little 2011 back. Everything else I can fix but the small lack in power. If I could bring my car up to even 140-150hp (it dynoed at 110) it would be just about perfect.

Come on ST!

I will find out.

The silver lining seems to be the ST, and the attention it will get. Cobb, Mountune, FSWerks, and Steeda are all on board, and since it shares a lot with the regular Fiesta, there will probably be some trickle down.

If you want to run Mountune programming you will need to buy this mTune handheld.
Thanks for the clarification Randy!
Ford NA needs to get off its butt and clarify whether they plan to follow the UK model and warranty this stuff- for some of us it could be a determinant in whether we buy the car.
