What Don't You Like About the FiST

Don't get me wrong, I like the car and it is fun to drive.
However there are things that could have been done better.

My first example is the cargo area.
I have driven cars for years with no spare tire at all so a space saver is no problem.
If they wanted to use a full size spare it should have been made to fit better.
I need to use the cargo area and that floating floor just seems unfinished.
Things can move forward and end up under the rear seat or the tire well.

I'm jealous of the things you don't like...

Though I have lots of cargo space... ;)
I wish the shifter were located a little further back. When I'm in a comfortable driving position I have to lean forward slightly for some shifts.

I also wish the shift action were a little less vague.
The two extra doors, heartbreaking. :(

Other than that the car is about perfect.

I'm actually quite pleased with the look of the five-door. It's nice being able to access those back seats any ol' time.

It's not all about the looks, I'm 6'6" I like the long doors of a three door and hate the b-pillar directly next to my head as it is in the Fiesta 5 door.

Maybe Ford will see the error of it's ways and offer us both sometime in the near future.

That's certainly fair.

I don't see the error being fixed before the next generation car, though. The factory isn't tooled for a 3 door.

Wouldnt the cargo tray help mitigate that? Looks like it has a lip, although the ST one might not work at the lower height? Can anyone check?
The car is PERFECT for me. The only thing annoying right now is the touchscreen. Not responsive enough and VERY small buttons to target while moving. Love the look, sound, performance, economy, size, cargo, and options.

I have ordered the cargo protector mat, so we will see.
Just today my clipboard and tablet tried to migrate under the back seat.

I've managed to almost entirely avoid using the touch screen thanks to the surprisingly good voice control.

I don't like that the Fiesta ST is not available in Bright Magenta, like my "old" Fiesta.

Get some cargo management going on! a fixed but removable Storage bin or net... for the stuff that likes to slide around.
My list would be:
1. 3- or 5-door options
2. Simpler stereo, DIN-sized, cause I always like aftermarket better
3. Ability to order any part of the Recaro package on its own
4. Panorama roof
5. Yes it's gaudy, but it's my car -who's to say that Green Envy doesn't go with the Recaros in Orange? :wideyed:
6. More aftermarket-friendly bolt pattern on the wheels
7. Better storage around the shifter
8. A nice racing event bennie that doesn't require me to go to always-exciting SLC. :dead:
9. Built-in blender for margaritas :hungover:

That's all I can think of for now; I'm sure to come up with more as I get more time with it

Thank you for your suggestion/s.
I know how to fix it.
I could fill all the spaces with construction foam.
My point was that Ford should have done a better finish on this in the first place.

Dave
Too many doors, front door arm rests need a pocket you can grab when opening the door, the Recaros are about an inch too narrow for me, give me a Mustang style Recaro option, USB ports won't charge my phone when the car is off, rev limit too low (its a 1.6, it should do 7,500), gear ratios are not ideal, no HID headlight option, no Olsberg style hand brake, make the warning stickers on the sun visors easy to remove, they need to open up the strut top at the factory so you can run camber plates without a hole saw and bumping out of your racing class and painted calipers should have been standard.

I moved mine from my SES to the ST and run without the parcel tray.

center arm rest
spring loaded cupholders
dual height rear floor
the fact that I have to give mine back at the end of the year
Not a single complaint about my Fiesta ST yet!!

But then it hasn't been built yet.
