Wiper switch problem

This morning when I got in my car I turned on the front wipers to clear the windshield and at the same time the rear wiper came on. Thinking I was half asleep I tried it again turned on the front wipers and the rear one came on again (I made sure I didn't turn on the rear wiper). After driving for 5 mins I tried it again but this time just the front came on. Then I tried turning on the back wiper and it worked fine.. It was maybe -15 last nite. Anyone else having this problem?

This is not a problem, but how the wipers are programmed.

That the front wiper switch works for the back wiper?

If you were in Reverse the rear will swipe and yes the wiper stalk is odd if you are coming from any other brand car...

Yeah, that freaked me the first time too.
